Will we see the Iron Mike of Old, or a Rusty Old Tyson against Jake Paul?

In what can only be described as yet another glitch in the Matrix, former heavyweight champ and one-time “Baddest Man on the Planet,” Mike Tyson, is set to face off against the Child Actor-turned-YouTuber-turned-Boxer Jake Paul on Friday, November 15.

While Jake Paul’s presence in boxing has been met with relentless eye-rolls this fight is fully sanctioned. Yes, technically, by the end of the night, Jake Paul could have his name mentioned alongside actual boxing legends like Buster Douglas and Evander Holyfield. But, let’s not get too carried away—this showdown comes with some asterisks: eight rounds, each lasting just two minutes, with oversized 14-ounce gloves compared to standard 10-ounce professional boxing gloves

Tyson, now 58 and two decades removed from his last sanctioned bout, steps in as a significant underdog at +190 odds on BET99. Meanwhile, Paul (10-1) is a sizable favourite at -250, having already added some big names to his list of conquests—Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, to name a few.

The total rounds line is set at 5.5, with the “Over” slightly favoured (-120 on BET99). Paul has dragged fighters like Diaz, Fury, Silva, and Woodley to the final bell, and Tyson’s last exhibition also ended in a decision. So don’t be shocked if we’re treated to a full 16 minutes of…something.

Whether Tyson triumphs or takes a tumble, the odds paint a clear picture: expect a tired, weathered Iron Mike battling nostalgia as much as Jake Paul. So, mark your calendar and prepare for a fight that promises more spectacle than sizzle. Catch it all next Friday—only on Netflix.
