Shohei Ohtani’s MLB Postseason Debut

After six fruitless seasons as a member of the Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers phenom Shohei Ohtani will finally make his Major League Baseball playoffs debut this fall. L.A.’s featured team is set for its 12th straight postseason appearance, with Ohtani set to make his October bow this Saturday in the National Division Series.

The two-way superstar could quickly go from postseason zero to hero, however, with the L.A. Dodgers the MLB odds on favourite to win the National League (+165* at BET99) and the World Series (+310*).

While the Dodgers chase down an eighth World Series triumph, Ohtani could be in line for more hardware himself, too.

Ohtani finished the season with a .310 average, narrowly missing the National League batting title. However, he led the league with 54 home runs and 130 RBIs. Adding to his remarkable season, he stole 59 bases and set new records in multiple categories.

The Japanese superstar has all but secured the NL MVP, with the regular-season award off the board at BET99’s sportsbook.

Should the Dodgers reach the Fall Classic, their talisman is a good bet to make his MVP twice as nice — with some sportsbooks already having posted World Series MVP odds, and Ohtani atop the board at +900*.

In the competitive National League, L.A. faces a tough journey before another MVP enters Ohtani's sights. After his time with the Angels, the once-in-a-generation player understands that success is never guaranteed.

One thing is for certain, however: as the calendar turns to October, it’ll finally be “Shotime”!
